Our review process
How we check trade profiles.
Checks depend on the type of trade, business structure and information available. A review may include the following.
Proof of identity
Valid identification and a profile photo help us confirm that the applicant is who they claim to be.
Proof of address
We may request evidence of a home, workshop or other place from which the business operates.
Qualifications
For work requiring formal accreditation, we may ask for relevant Botswana-recognised qualifications or licences.
CIPA registration
Where an applicant operates as a registered company or business name, we may confirm its CIPA record.
Trading history
Past projects, operating history and other supporting evidence help us understand the business's experience.
Financial checks
Where relevant and available, checks may identify insolvency, bankruptcy or other material business concerns.
Platform safeguards
Duplicate and account-history checks
Applicant details may be cross-checked against accounts previously declined, suspended or removed from Mmereki.
